Internship Application 2026

To apply for the 2026 UROC Internship Program, applicants must submit all required materials via email to:

uroc@umd.edu

Email Subject Line Format

Please use the following subject line exactly:

Internship Application 2026 – FULL NAME

Example:
Internship Application 2026 – Jane Smith

Required Application Materials

Please include the following items in your submission:

1. Applicant Information

Provide the following information in the body of your email or in an attached document:

  • Full Name
  • University or College Currently Attending
  • Degree Program / Major
  • Expected Graduation Date
  • Contact Information (email and phone number)

2. Resume / CV

Attach an up-to-date resume or curriculum vitae (PDF preferred).


3. Faculty or Research Mentor Information

Applicants must identify a mentor who has agreed to work with them during the internship.

Please provide:

  • Mentor’s Full Name
  • Institution or Organization
  • Mentor’s Email Address

4. Mentor Confirmation Screenshot

Attach a screenshot or written confirmation showing that your mentor has agreed to support or supervise your proposed project.

Examples may include:

  • Email confirmation
  • Text confirmation
  • Signed approval message

5. Project Proposal Summary

Submit a brief summary describing your proposed internship project.

Your summary should include:

  • Project title
  • Research or project objective
  • Brief explanation of the work you plan to complete
  • Expected outcomes or impact
  • Why the project is relevant to UAS/UAV research, operations, policy, engineering, or related fields

Recommended length: 1–2 pages


6. Proposed Budget

*Project budgets are coordinated through UROC staff and limited to $1,000 per student for approved materials or services, so students are encouraged to utilize existing resources when possible and prepare their budgets early due to end-of-fiscal-year purchasing restrictions in late June.

Once completed:

  • Save the spreadsheet with your name included in the filename
  • Attach the completed budget file to your application email

Submission Notes

  • Incomplete applications may not be reviewed.
  • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
  • Please ensure all attachments are included before submitting.
